Home & Maal Hijrah

I am finally home and I had distribute gifts to my mom and aunt..The Selendangs Remember? They loved it. Mom was greedy and wanted all of it. I told her to distribute it and if she liked it so much, i can always go there and buy again..next time i buy 30-40! hahaa...

It was also my brother's birthday today and the poor guy had to go back to camp today. A bit sad and it was obvious in his face but reality check, we all should not feel sorry but should feel proud that he is serving the country!

My grandma even suggested that we should carry the bag for him much to my horror! haha..I tell everyone not to do that lest we embarrased him. I only offered to pay for the cab ride but he refused. (good guy!)

As the year coming to an end based on gregorian calender, today is the last day of the Muslim calender year. Tomorrow is the beginning of the Muslim Year.

To All Muslims, Maal Hijrah and I hope that all of you will have a blessed year ahead. Insya Allah.

Hugs

Suria KLCC

A trip suggested by Jesz which took me by surprise.

I have always thought that he is not a fan of the public transport and when he suggested, i readily agreed and keep all opinions to myself. :)

We left home about 11am and uncle (Jesz's dad) drove us to Taman Bahagia Station. From there we took the train down to KLCC.

At KLCC, I did not take any photos but i did make a round tour of the shops. Very expensive wor..might as well buy from SG (even after discounts) :)

However I bought a brooch for my mom. I like a silver brooch from a shop that I went to in Royal Selangor (but it was not Royal Selangor) but i find that paying RM500.00 for it was a bit extravagant and i know mom will wear it only occasionally (perhaps next time if i earn maybe $50K per month!)

Then we bought Dunkin Donuts! I am disappointed that there were no more munchkins being sold! Bangau kan???

End up we bought the normal donuts for like 5 get 1 free for RM11.50.

Oh one more thing, Jesz bought me to Madam Kwan. A fine restaurant (very noisy though) serving local food but with high price. Not as pricey as Hilton KL Nasi Lemak (RM 50.00 for a plate).

I had the Nasi Bojari and Jesz had the Nasi Lemak.

I regret not trying the assam laksa though!

After that we reach home and eat and tido. What else is there if you are on "vacation"?

PutraJaya, Sunway & Midvalley.

Joey was kind enough to offer to take me out yesterday.

He drove to his area first to get my jeans altered before driving to Putrajaya for phototaking.

I remembered going to Putrajaya when it first opened but the land at that time was still barren and not much of greeneries.

That has changed. It was still as hot as ever though :)

From Putrajaya, he drove to Sunway for me to shop (again). I am a fussy shopper. Who doesn't like cheap bargains right?

Hence I bought another 3 pairs of shirt and it all cost me less than SGD 80!

After walking miles in Sunway, we proceed to Midvalley for dinner. He gave me a treat at this cafe - Little Penang Cafe.

My opinion? - Food takes good and affordable :)

After Midvalley, i had to get Ramly Burger for Jesz who wanna have it for supper.

Found it and reached home by 9.40pm!

It was really pitch dark outside his home..no wonder he sms me asking me where am I....

Oh well, by the time i reached, it was raining heavily...oh well.. :)

Thank you to Joey for bringing me around.. :)

Weekend Update

Dear Readers,

Today is my 5th day of my vacation in Kuala Lumpur. I managed to shop till I drop and I think I have more to go! hahaaaaaaaaaaa...

Over the weekends i got myself

1. 2 pairs of shoes
2. 13 selendangs/tudungs
3. 2 shirts
4. a jeans

It is not easy to look for something that I like though. I am wondering what's with the dark colour shirts lately. Last year was more bright but this year seems so bleak :(

Anyway I think I want to go to The Curve later and check things out. Perhaps there are more choices there.

Talking about choices - I walked the entire One Utama (New and Old Wing) From 1 pm to 6 pm and only got myself jeans (Hhaha)

Wish me luck for my next trip today.

Hugs

Distributing the gifts

Today, everyone seems happy to get their gifts.

Also i bade farewell to dear Adeline. Her last day will be the 19th December 2008...it's so sad but i guess all that is well will ends well.

I hope she will get a good job and a great future ahead for her!

I received a "hamper" of sorts from Yang,Yati,Raymond(s) and Adeline for Xmas.. :) well when i give out it is not because I am expecting anything but rather to mark the occasion for xmas. It is more of a cultural thingy as they always wish us well for both Hari Raya's so i thought since Xmas is the spirit of giving, I gave to what i can afford. :)

I cleared as much as I can..for those that I can't i guess have to wait till i am back.. hehe :)

I am sorry if i cant update much while I am away..but i will try to as soon as i can with wonderful and nice pictures.

Till then..enjoy the holidays

Kuala Lumpur

Thinking about it, it is exactly almost a year since my trip to Shah Alam. A lot of memories came flooding back to me.

In fact, I intend to revisit the places that I went a year ago apart from going through the malls in Kuala Lumpur.

Sometimes, in life you gain new friends you lose old friends.

Oh..speaking about that, may i appeal to this someone who still has my picture in his blog to kindly remove my picture since I am no longer listed in your life nor you are listed in mine?

What has passed has passed. I really would like to move on from it.

It's nice to know that at one point, you were friends with me and enemies with someone else and the tables are turned again and its the opposite now happens..so be it :)

I am ok with that and I m glad it didnt continue further.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

So now at mom's place and just entertained my aunt and cousins who came by to seek advise on a cuzzie's result.

I gave as much advise as I can and my sister contribute as much as she can and they left about 11.30pm.

I do hope that things will turn out well for this family.

May Allah Bless them always.

Piccies - Personal Gifts

I think someone will recognise the last picture very well :)
The 2nd pic belongs to someone and the first pic - is mine! wakakkaka..

Thank you Jesz for that Christmas gift!

Piccies - Christmas Gifts!

The Last Week

I am sooo looking forward to this week!

Why? Because Friday will be the day I will leave from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur.

It seems to be a short week though. As I type out this blog, it is Thursday already - my last day at office.

I was out from Monday to Wednesday evenings shopping for xmas presents and gifts for my brother and sister.

Why do i buy Christmas presents? It is a common practise among me and my colleagues to give (if you can). It need not be expensive but its the thought that counts.

I received my first present - a Chanel Perfume - Allure Homme Sport ( THANK YOU TO RICHARD!)

Enjoy the pictures in the next post. Those are gifts that I actually bought for my colleagues.

It was wrapped and i prepared a nice paperbag for them to carry it in complete with a card.

Hope they enjoy their week!

KL here I come!!

Moving

Alhamdulillah, with the help of a good agent, with the grace of God, I managed to find a place.

Moving to Jurong East with an Indian who is a christian family.

There will be 1 direct bus to work - 98!

I am just so glad because it was a hassle to find a place, to re look at the ways to get to work, and worst I am going holidays. It was a headache.

So for those of you who are staying around Jurong East, perhaps we can meet for coffee some days..hahaha..i am not sure where though!

Have a nice day!

June Nita

June Nita, my cousin - from dad's side was married on Friday.
I took half the day off to prepare myself. Frankly it has been months/years since we met up. I didnt really had a good opinion of dad's family.

We were never close as a family. Too much historical issues for me. It predates since the days my mom and dad were courting.

Whatever it is, i pushed all those negative feelings aside and braved myself to come and see her before her akad nikah or solemnisation.

For the benefit of non muslim, akad nikah is a ceremony whereby the father of the bride and future son in law will meet. There the father of the bride will formally give away his daughter to the groom. Usually it will be based on an agreed mas kahwin or dowry.
Followed by bridal gifts which will be exchanged.

It is an emotional ceremony for every muslims parents and for the bride, she will be cared for now by her husband and not her father.

I came with my mom and my youngest sister. Earlier I had ordered 2 types of Kueh from Yati - the Kueh Koci and the Kueh Naga Sari. I loveeeddd her mom's kueh.

50 pieces each - no less.

Of course not forgetting the ang pow or duit salam for her. I thought of buying gifts but i decide not to as I am not sure what she likes anyway.

As i look around, i notice that my aunties and uncles are aging..same as my parents..its like..wow..27 years have passed unnoticed...

I wonder what it would be like in 10 years time.

I happen to banter with my eldest Aunt. Surprisingly.

All in all, i didnt really want to spend much time so i left at about 9pm, send sister home and went back to Clementi.

Holiday Trip

As you all know that I have mentioned before, I am going for a holiday trip from the 19th December 2008 to 27th December 2008.

I will be travelling by bus at about 3 pm from Singapore Harbour Front and should reach One Utama at 8 pm.

This would be my second trip by bus. My first trip by bus was last year October 2007.

That would be for the 19th. I will be spending the night at Bandar Utama - a friend's place.

On 20th, depending on situation, I will be send to Kelana Jaya Station to take a trip down to KL Sentral or will be driven directly to KL Sentral.

Why? I will be staying at Hilton Hotel for my shopping trip and meet the friends/cousins session! :)

MUST GO TO and GET:

1. Shoes -> Pertama Shopping Complex
My last experience with this mall was last year. I love the price and shoes. It was a test out for me and I think i will buy more shoes this year.

2. Good bargains

3. Sales.

For those who have good shopping skills, let me know :)

Hugs

Musings of a mualaf

I love to read this blog. It is a personal thoughts of a Chinese lady who became a Muslim.

Today she put up a new entry and she put up her motto:

Here is what she believes in

"Ikut hati binasa, ikut Islam bahagia.
Takut manusia, hidup merana;
takut Allah balasannya syurga."

I agree 100% and she is so right!

Keep up Kak Aliya and get well soon!!
